Dear strongAF, welcoming, inclusive and empowering comrades,
At all times, especially in uncertain times, we want our community to feel supported, empowered, seen and valued. We also want to ensure a safe space for everyone to come exactly as you are. After reading Lauren’s blog post from earlier this week, I reflected on the value of Solcana in my own life and how it has become an integral part of my self-care, which empowers me to show up exactly as myself in every area of my life. Here are some of the words Lauren so beautifully put together that really resonated with me:
“Solcana has taught me that self care is important. It’s taking care of the person, body, mind, and spirit. It’s almost as if they went out of their way to declare, ‘We don’t just tolerate you, but we SEE you. We WELCOME you. Not just your many bodies, and many backgrounds, but the whole you. The support and the tools to flourish are here. And it is our joy to share them with you.’
I know that’s a lot to put on a gym. But something tells me, they can handle it.”
Thank you, Lauren, for saying exactly what I, and everyone at Solcana, want you all to know:
We see you and we welcome you exactly as you are. It is our joy to share the support and tools that you need to flourish. We can handle it. It is an absolute honor to hold the space for each of you to explore the resources and support available. To find whatever you may need right now. To be with us. To take time to yourself. To workout. To skip a day. To be quiet. To be loud. We can handle it.
With strength, gentleness and compassion,
“With so much cultural division these days, we can all bring more kindness and compassion into the world, and the place to start must be within our own hearts.” – Kristin Neff
