Fall Challenge Results and What’s Next In Programming
Congratulations to everyone who officially and unofficially participated in The Fall Challenge. Congratulations to Rachel M for winning our Fall Challenge Prize Drawing. We hope you enjoy your trip to Watershed Bathhouse.
The Fall Programming Cycle is focused on gaining strength. We used Deadlift, Jerk and Pull-Ups to drive and measure our progress, and we made some impressive progress. Here are some numbers to celebrate our achievements:
Deadlift

Total Test Out: 12691 lbs
Total Gains: 1239 lbs

Jerk

Total Test In: 2986 lbs
Total Test Out: 3349 lbs
Total Gains: 363 lbs

Pull-Ups

Test In/Out: 56 People, ~4 rep improvement per person
Any time we focus on gaining strength, we also put in lots of accessory movements to build stability and muscular balance. When we program, we are always thinking about how important it is to balance strength, stability, range of motion and quality. If you did not specifically gain in your lifts, there is a really good chance that you built stability and improved the quality of your movements. These more subtle gains will set you up well for future successes and help you avoid injuries in the gym and out in the world.
What’s Next
From here we will continue to focus on strength, with a wider variety of movements, through the end of the year. After that we will begin our Invitational Cycle, which will focus on building skill, performance, endurance and power output. The Invitational Programming Cycle will culminate in The Solcana Invitational, a series of 5 workouts designed to test and challenge us in a wide range of skills and strengths. We’re so excited to shift gears and continue to grow with you as an exercise community. 💪🏽
