NEW HOME OF SOLCANA

SOLCANA IS MOVING!

I am beyond excited to announce that we have officially purchased our own building, located at 3016 Minnehaha Avenue (less than 1 mile from our current location). This building used to belong to The Hub, who recently downsized and will continue to own the adjoining building, as our lovely neighbors. 

This process has taken us 8 months, but since the very beginning it has felt like a natural fit. Once I heard The Hub was closing their location, I gave them a call and we worked together to come up with a plan of purchase. They have been a dream to work with along the way and have made this process very easy for us. 

Buying our own building is a HUGE step for us. It means we can invest money in ourselves instead of a landlord, and it also means we can make a greater impact on the landscape of the city.

I am sure you have a million questions about the new location, and though I may not be able to answer all of them yet, here are some details I can share:

• The space is 6,000 sq ft (currently we have 3,800 sq ft)

• We will have a separate lobby, locker room, changing rooms, showers and plenty of toilets. 

• There will be three rooms so we can serve personal training clients as well as run two classes at once. 

• There will be ample parking, both behind our building and on the street

• Our offices are upstairs and we will have an awesome staff area

• We will be closing our current location and moving our entire operation to this new space

• We have lots of new equipment coming

The timeline for the build-out and opening:

May 20th: Officially closed on our loan

Construction: Scheduled to take 100 days, should start after memorial day

Early September: 3-day moving period (all hands on deck)

Sometime in September: Opening in new location

I recognize that a construction timeline is always hopeful, and we are likely to encounter things along the way that could delay the process. My hope is that we can move and open sometime in early September, around labor day. We will only close for a few days, just long enough to get everything moved over.

Involving You

Before we move to our new location, I want to spend some time connecting with our community, answering questions and talking about the next 10-years of Solcana. In order to do that I will be hosting two member-only zoom calls, where I will share some more details about the move, share our goals for the next 10 years at Solcana, and get your feedback. I want you all to be able to contribute to this move as much as you'd like to, and involve you in the process.

I will make an announcement about those zoom call dates and details after our 10-year Anniversary Party on June 1st.

I am BEYOND excited about what is coming for our entire community, and I am so grateful for everyone that has been part of this purchasing process and the last 10 years of growth. Our ability to make this purchase is a testament to the way the coaches and members have shown up for each other and gave their energy to this place. Every single good thing that Solcana does is a result of that dedication. I am immensely humbled by the way all of you continue to bring massive love to our doorstep. Thank you so much.
